You really can find anything at Wal-Mart!

Lisa and I are trying to avoid having two shopping carts while shopping, but it's hard when you find things to put in the cart that you just can't pass up:

We only did this once. Thought we'd carry him the whole time, but he fell asleep and with my sweather and his blanket we found the perfect bed for him while we shopped. This did give us a lot more cart space.

Christ Was Love

My sister-in-law sent Christmas letters with a story that I wanted to share:

During a school Christmas pageant, not to many years ago, a mother sat listening to joyful songs of the Holidays. There were songs about Santa, snowmen and reindeer; but there was no mention of Jesus or the true meaning of Christmas. Almost near the end of the pageant, one of the youngest classes got up to sing their song entitled "Christmas Love." The title caught the mother's attention. As the class sang, children held up letters to spell out the title of the song. "C is for Christmas", they sang. "H is for Holly" and so on. But then it happened. The girl holding the "M" inadvertently held it upside down. The audience laughed. She didn't seem to notice, but instead held her letter up high and proud. It was not until the end, when all the cards were held up that the audience was finally silent. They seemed to notice it all at once. Instead of spelling out "Christmas Love" as the song was titled. With the "M" upside down the cards now read "Christ Was Love."

I have been so busy with having a new baby, school, work, and church lately that I have forgotten to focus on the true meaning of Christmas. I was grateful for a reminder of the love Christ has for us. Thanks Starr and Robb for helping me to keep focused on what really matters.

I hope everyone enjoys this wonderful holiday season.

Red Hair

So little Benjamin is now 3 months old. It's crazy how much he has grown in such a short amount of time. It's also weird to think it's already been 3 months.

Oh, and yes he does have red hair.

It's funny how the first thing someone will say when they see him is "He has red hair!" - often as a question. We are not sure where he gets it. Lisa and I both have uncles on our mothers sides that have red hair so that is our guess of where it comes from. We love it though and just hope it stays. My mom, herself had red hair for the first year of her life but then it changed and was never red again.

Utah Man Sir A Utah Man Am I

Just thought I would get in on the whole rivalry thing.
GO UTES!!!
(This coming from a BYU graduate)

Winning Monopoly in real life!

Last night Clayton and I went to the Jazz game (where they beat the Bucks and I got to see Andrew Bogut again!!!). We were pulling into a parking lot to pay to park when a man walking towards our car waved to have us roll down our window. He handed us a "free parking" pass for the lot. That totally made our night! What a nice person! I don't know why he had an extra "free parking" pass but we were grateful.
So whoever you were, Thank You!!

Just thought you would all like to see a picture of my favorite non-Jazz player, Andrew Bogut. He played for the U of U before he was drafted by the Bucks. Another great Aussie!

Benjamin and Houston

A lot of people have asked us about how Houston is doing with Benjamin. They are doing really good together.

When we first brought Benjamin home, Houston was so cute to watch. He always needed to know where Ben was. If Benjamin was sleeping in the crib, we would have to show Houston so he would calm down. Houston's not as worried about him now, I think he has finally realized that Benjamin is here to stay.

Houston is really good around him, he won't bark at him - however he will bark at strangers outside, which does startle Ben. Houston really loves lotion, as in to lick who ever is wearing it. So, as you can image sometimes that is a problem.

Houston's saddest part of this new person he has to share mine and Lisa's attention with is not being able to sit on Lisa's lap as often. There are plenty of times Benjamin will share the lap with him, the only thing we are working on is Houston thinks that means he can sit on Ben's laps while sitting on Lisa's.

We love them both and look forward to them growing up together.

Houston is loving life with the being able to play with the girl Lisa watches in the morning. And Clayton is keeping busy with work and school.

I shot a 91!

So Friday at work was a slow day and after lunch me and two co-workers went and played a round a Golf. My third game ever, all 3 this summer. It's fun, I even got a set of club for my birthday earlier this summer. I am so good I shoot a 91. Oh, did I mention we only played 9 holes, that's right - par for the 9 is 36. So if you ever want to go play let me know. I figure I should get better with every game. I don't hit off the fairway, just straight and short, I have a hard time getting any air.

Updates!

Today was our second doctors appointment for Benjamin. He is now up to 7 pounds 6 ounces and 21 inches long. Our little boy is already growing so fast! The doctor says that he is doing great.
I am enjoying being able to stay home and play with Ben all day. I never realized what a full-time job being a mother is! It never stops. I wouldn't trade it for anything though. I am amazed at how much I can love this little guy.
Thanks to everyone who has called and stopped by. We really appreciate all the love and support you have given us.

I have a wonderful husband!

I just wanted to thank Clayton for being such a great husband such a wonderful dad to Benjamin and Houston. He has been so supportive and understanding. I am so lucky to have him in my life! We all love you Clayton!!!

Some pics of our cute little 'guy'!

Just a couple of hours after his birth. Awake and wondering what this new place is all about.

First car ride, all bundled up and safe. Mommy rode in the back just to make sure.

Sleeping - his favorite thing to do.

Grandma came for a visit and he was happy to sleep there too.

Mid burping, he gets comfortable and is right to sleep.

Houston is loving him, except that little Benjamin does take a lot of Mom's lap time, so when Ben is willing to share or is not on her lap, he is.

He's here!!

Benjamin Del Guy came into the world yesterday at 6:30 PM - weighing in at only 6 lbs and 13 oz. A tall skinny 'guy' measuring 19.5 inches. Lisa is doing well.

Neighbors - can't live with them.

Or it seems that they can't live with us.

The neighbors to the east have moved out once again. Since we have lived here (2 years) - we have seen 4 neighbors move out. I know we have a little yapping dog, and I might not mow the lawn every 7 days, but I didn't think we were that bad to live next too.

So the neighbors moved out on Thursday and on Friday a new family moved it. I went over and meet them, and when I asked how they were, the father informed me that this was only a temporary move and they only expect to live there for a month or two - so within a min of converstation with me he's already planning on moving out. This morning a for sale by owner sign is in the yard.

Oh, by the way - I am typing this from the couch in the hospital. Lisa is sleeping, but dilated to a 6!!!

She's here!!!

My sister Jeni had her cute baby a week ago (July 26th). Clayton and I were spending the weekend at Bear Lake at a family reunion for his family when we heard the news. We went to the hospital to see her when we got back. I don't know if being there with a newborn made me more excited or more scared. It has been really helpful to be able to spend some time with her this last week. Jeni's son James (2 years old) is adjusting to having a little sister but he is so cute with her. He gives her little kisses and will try to help with whatever he can. Baby Anna is really fun though. Whenever I hold her, Benjamin starts to kick her. They are already playing together.
Today marks 1 month to go for Benjamin to make his big debut. I am excited but scared at the same time. I hope he doesn't come early because I start school on the 18th and I want to get a few weeks with the students. I have to go back to meetings on the 12th so my summer is almost over. So sad.
Houston is recovering nicely from his little injury and that makes me happy. Hopefully that will never happen again.

Our cute puppy had a run in yesterday with two of the neighbors HUGE dogs. I was closing the garage door and Houston slipped under it before I could stop him. Our neighbor was outside with his two big dogs so that is of course where Houston went. I ran (as fast as a 7 1/2 month pregnant person can run) to get him. The two dogs got a nip at him before I got there and before the neighbor could call them back. I bought him inside and noticed that he was bleeding so I ended up taking him to the vet. Luckily he didn't need stitches. He is just on an anti-biotic to keep it from getting infected. He is one tough puppy. I feel bad for him everytime I see his owie.

Yeah!!!! I am finally done!

So today is the last day of my summer classes. It is finally time for me to have a summer vacation. I don't know what exciting things I am going to do but at least I don't have anymore classes or homework. I should probably start getting ready for little Benjamin to come. I have about 2 more months to clean and get our house ready. I need to get my classroom and sub plans ready so that I don't have to worry about school when he finally decides to come. Oh the joys. I am really excited though. So I am hoping that I will be better about keeping our blog updated now that I am out of school. Who knows though.

Houston's Haircut

Houston got a haircut yesterday and looks so cute that I had to share it with you all.
They even put a patriotic bandana on him. He doesn't keep it on forever but it is cute while it lasts.
We have the cutest dog in the world!
(How many times can I say cute?)

My cute students!

I am playing catch up today. I was getting some pictures off my camera and saw this one that made me smile. About a week before school got out, I got a TERRIBLE pain in my back. It turned out that I had kidney stones. If you have had them before you know how much they hurt. If you never have, pray you never will. It feels like you want to die. Anyways, I ended up in the hospital and missing 4 days of school. My cute students made me a banner and hung it on my garage. When I got home from the hospital, there it was! It made me so happy! In case you can't read it, it says "We love you Mrs. Guy" with all their signatures and a few messages.

Schools Out For Summer (well. . . sort of)

So we have not been the best at keeping our blog updated. Things have been a little hectic for the last few weeks but hopefully life has calmed down. I finished teaching for the summer about a week ago. I am going to school now though. I have a math class I am taking 3 days a week through the month of June. So even though I am out of school, I am still in school. Fun for me!!! Clayton is going to school during the summer too so I guess I can't complain that much.

Last weekend I had the wonderful opportunity to attend my 10 year High School reunion. I can't believe I have been out of High School for 10 years (I feel really old). It was really fun seeing "the group." We don't get together as often as we used to. It was interesting to see how much people have changed over the last 10 years and how much some people have stayed the same. I am glad I went but I am not sure I am going to go to another reunion.

Picture of our cute baby

So here is the first official picture of our little guy. I think he is just the cutest! It is amazing how much more real a pregnancy becomes after you see your baby.
Now comes the fun of shopping for all the baby things we need. Any great shopping tips from you experienced moms would be great.

We're having a Baby!

We are going to have a baby boy!!! We are so excited. He is due on September 4th!
