We have a little tree that we decorate:
The ornaments on this tree are random, but many of them are old earrings that were my mothers. My mom wore different earrings everyday and had some for every holiday. Like this one below.
I love Christmas, but it does remind me a lot of my mom and I miss her the most in December. One of my favorite parts of Christmas growing up was the day we put the Christmas tree up. We would decorate the tree, each year we would get a new ornament from my mom. All of us kids had our own box of ornaments. This is a lot of what Lisa and I decorate our main tree with (plus ornaments of Lisa's Grandmother's). So, after it was all decorated we would sit around it as a family, mom would have made a bunch of goodies and there would be egg nog. Then mom would sit there and read Christmas stories to us. I loved it and miss it.
I wish at times I could pick up the phone and call her. Before my mission I was blessed to have time most evenings to sit in my mom's sewing room and just be with her. She loved her sewing room. There was always something to sew or make it seems. Below is one of the many different reditions of the room.
Me and My Mother:
I found this picture of the family and thought I would post it as well.
I love you, Mom!!

Thanks for making me cry cousin! I miss your mom too! I am so grateful that we have so many great memories of her. She was an amazing woman. A great example. Congrats on your new baby!
Thanks for this post. We got our tree yesterday, decorated it, had eggnog and I read the kids Christmas stories. That is what brings Christmas for me, just like it did with Mom.
Reading to us is one of my favorite Christmas memories of Mom. I read to the kids now to when we get the tree up. Remember we would all get jammies on she would make treats, sometimes donuts and we would eat them as we listend to the stories. Good post thanks, Clayton!!!
